"Beauty All Around Me" - Navajo Poem
Monument Valley and the Antelope Canyon slots are not exactly secret locations.  There
is no place on earth more
recognizable than the horizon dominated by The Mittens.  And, who hasn't marveled at the sensuous abstracts that Antelope Canyon is famous for?  This is a landscape that nature photographers the world over know by heart, and most long for the opportunity to attempt their own unique compositions of this scenery.  In this part of the world it's easy to see where the inspiration for the above poem comes from.  This may be an incredibly harsh environment, but it is an incredibly beautiful one as well.  Red sandstone buttes and pillars dominate the landscape.  Arches open up on new worlds just waiting to be discovered.  And, deep cracks in the ground give access to a place where the dreams of the slumbering earth can be captured with a camera.
Ford Point
Sand Falls OK, that's enough poetry, but this country can make a poet out of anyone.  A Navajo guide will also give us our first introduction to Monument Valley, taking us to locations the more casual photographers miss.  We'll be at the spectacular vistas at the right times, and a full moon will help us compose some images that will truly be special.  If the nights are clear, we'll try to capture the constellations with the incredible Monument Valley monoliths in the foreground.
Our last two days will be spent exploring slot canyons, and you too will be a poet by the end of the second day.  On Day 1, a Navajo guide will make sure we are at the right places at the right times in both Upper and Lower Antelope Canyons.   The next day we'll be treated to some more secret slot canyons.  You won't get the beams shining down, but the rocks are just as red, and the canyons are just as narrow, and we have them all to ourselves.  Because we have them all to ourselves, these canyons are usually everyone's favorites.  As with all of our tours, the price includes transportation to and from the Page airport, lodging, meals, entrance fees, guide fees, instruction and critiques.
