Why Take This Photo Tour With Us?

* Directly in the path of the full solar eclipse in a location we’ll probably have all to ourselves.
* Participants will have good opportunities for both wildlife and scenery.
* We take care of the driving, the meals and the lodging.

2017 is a solar eclipse year, and this will be the first total solar eclipse visible over the continental U.S. since 1979. It’s the first one in 99 years to travel from one coast to another across the country. We’ll be stationed in an arid part of the country directly under the eclipse’s track, watching as the moon’s shadow brings darkness to the landscape and then as light returns. Very little in the way of specialized equipment is required to photograph this phenomenon, so we’ll have some very special opportunities. And the eclipse is just the beginning.

After photographing the solar eclipse, we’ll spend the next four days exploring Custer State Park and Badlands National Park in South Dakota. Our time will be split between wildlife and landscape photography, and sometimes we may be find the choice hard to make. With any luck at all, we’ll have more chances for astral photography since few places have darker skies or more impressive foreground for night photography than the Badlands. And as long as we’re so close, we’ll visit Mt. Rushmore as well.
