MONTANA
GLACIER NATIONAL PARK
July 14-19, 2009
$1,995     Deposit: $500
Airport:  Kalispell, Montana

Glacier  National Park  is one of only a
handful of sites in the world where
photographers have access to a
spectacular alpine world simply by
stepping out of their vehicle.  The
retreating glaciers the park was named
for sculpted a bewildering array of horns,
arêtes and hanging valleys that beg to be
photographed.  Throw in meadows of
wildflowers, turquoise lakes, thunderous
cascades and waterfalls, as well as an
abundance of wildlife like mountain goats
and bighorn sheep, and this instructional
photo tour promises to be a special one.

We will show you how to do photographic
justice to such a grand landscape and the
animals that call it home.  Participants
will get hands-on instruction in a variety
of habitats.  We’ll be spending quality time
on both sides of the park, as well as on the
well-named Going-to-the-Sun Road  that
connects them.

Participants will have plenty of time to try
to capture the view from Logan Pass, the
cascades in Avalanche Gorge, jagged peaks
reflected in still waters and just absorb the
majesty of this land where the mountains
meet the sky.  There will be relaxing boat
rides with towering mountains all around.
And while we probably won’t have good
opportunities to photograph them, the
presence of wolves and grizzly bears gives
this land a wilderness feel.
